PAYMENTS and DEPOSIT
All amounts stated are in NZ Dollars. A deposit of 20% is likely to be required at the time the booking for confirmation and the balance is due before start of hire in $NZ cash or payment by Visa or Mastercard credit cards.
EXTRA COSTS and LOCAL TAXES
Goods and Services Tax of 15% (GST), is not included in the rate and a credit card fee of 2.5% is charged on all Visa and Mastercard transactions.
TRAVEL DISTANCE
All rentals over three days include unlimited kilometres, however, hires of 3 days or less incur a 20c + GST per kilometre charge.
CONFIRMATION
Following the receipt of deposit we will issue an email confirmation of hire.
BOND
A Bond of $NZ2000 or $NZ500 with ER (Excess Reduction) is held as a signed credit card form for the period of hire.
CANCELLATION
Cancellation with more than 30 days to start of hire: You will receive a full refund.
Cancellation with less than 30 days to start of hire: You will forfeit 20%of the full fee
Cancellation with less than 7 days or No Show: You will forfeit the full fee.
INSURANCE
Standard Insurance is included free of charge in the daily rates:
Excess – $NZ3500+GST.
Excess for single vehicle accidents – $5000+GST.
Excess Reduction: Hirers can choose to pay $30 +GST per day to reduce liability to $500 in the case of a 2 vehicle accident and complete cover for glass windscreen or headlights breakage.
DRIVERS
The vehicle may be driven during the hire period only by the persons named on the agreement and all drivers licences must be produced at the time of vehicle pick up. No drivers less than 25 years of age are permitted to drive the vehicle.
FUEL
The Hirer shall pay for all petrol fuel for the vehicle while on hire. You need to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel in it as when it was taken on hire otherwise a fuel charge will be charged at the end of the hire.
RETURN OF VEHICLE
It is expected that the vehicle is returned to Christchurch base of MX5 Rentals Ltd or the prearranged drop-off location in the same condition as it was when hired.
EARLY RETURNS
Vehicles may be returned earlier than the agreed return date but regrettably no refund for unused days will be possible.
ONE WAY HIRES
If the vehicle is not returned to Christchurch as arranged then a fee will be charged. Returns at other towns or cities may be able to be prearranged for a fee (subject to availability).
EXTENSIONS OF PERIOD
Extensions of the rental period must be approved at least 2 days before agreed drop-off time.
TRAFFIC INFRINGEMENTS
All speeding, speed camera and parking fines will be paid by the Hirer.
VEHICLE DAMAGE AND ACCIDENTS
In case of any accidents, they are required to be reported to us within 24 hours by telephone. Make sure you get all appropriate information from any other parties involved, including photos of what has happened.
RESCUE ROAD COVER
We have full road cover ensuring mechanical assistance at all times covers all vehicles while on New Zealand roads.
PRIVACY POLICY
We respect your privacy. Any and all information that we collect from you will be kept strictly confidential; held with the utmost care, and will not be used in ways that you have not consented to. We do not sell, rent, loan, trade, or lease any personal information collected at our site, including email addresses.
